Fairmount Neighborhood Bicycle Rodeo

The Shocker neighborhood Coalition would like to welcome the Fairmount community and families to attend a morning event in Fairmount park Saturday May 7th at 9:30-10:45 a.m. We will be hosting fun bicycle and physical activities, as well as inspecting bicycles and fitting children with bicycle helmets. This will be a fun event promoting physical activity in the Fairmount neighborhood. The event is free and we would like to encourage all children and families in the neighborhood to attend! I have read and agree to the following waiver.

In consideration of my child/ward being allowed to participate in the Bicycle Rodeo Event at Fairmount Park, I the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:
1.As with any physical activity, there is a risk of injury involved with participation. While supervision, particular skills, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of injury does exist and should be recognized as a reasonable possibility; and,
2. Individually and on behalf of my child/ward, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RESEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for any injuries or damages that may occur as a result of my child/ward’s participation; and,
3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for my child/ward’s participation in the Bicycle Rodeo Event at Fairmount Park. If however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself and child from participation and bring such to the attention of the event volunteers immediately; and,
4. I, for myself and on behalf of my child/ward, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS Wichita State University, The City of Wichita, Bike Walk Wichita, The Wichita Police Department, The Fairmount Neighborhood Association, and any officials, agents and/or employees, volunteers, supporting agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used for the activity (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property associated with my presence or my child/ward’s participation in the Bicycle Rodeo Event at Fairmount Park, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OR LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE WAIVED AND/OR RELEASED SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS FOR MYSELF AND MY CHILD/WARD. I AM 18 YEARS OR OLDER.

I grew up around Fairmont Park. I played there a lot.
It’s a great Park tucked into the WSU neighborhood!
The kids should enjoy the summer with new helmets.
