Redbud Path Meetings – Nov 8 & 13

Red Bud Multi-Use Path Meeting

Design work is currently underway for improvements to the Redbud Multi-Use Path from K-96 to 159th Street East. The proposed improvements include a 14-foot wide path for the length of the project and the installation of a new waterline and sewer main between 127th Street and K-96. Multiple options are being considered for the path, differing in material (rock versus concrete) and width of each surface type. Construction is planned to begin in the spring of 2019 and be completed in late 2019.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Reeds Cove Clubhouse at 5:30 pm, Chief Design Engineer Shawn Mellies will discuss all options being considered, including the preferred option, and will be available to answer questions. This meeting is for area residents.

The project will also be presented to the City of Wichita District II Advisory Board on November 13, 2017, at 6:30 pm. The meeting will held at the Fire Station #20 located at 2255 S. Greenwich Road and everyone interested is welcome to attend.

The Wichita City Council public hearing on this project is scheduled for December 12, 2017, in the City Council Chambers, 1st Floor City Hall, 455 N. Main. The City Council meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Shawn Mellies at (316) 268-4632, or e-mail him at smellies@wichita.gov.
