Wichita weather can change quickly, but temperatures are fairly decent 90% of the year and with a little preparation, colder weather doesn’t have to drive you indoors. In fact, numerous studies reveal a variety of benefits from strengthening your immune system to improving mental well-being.
Your first instinct may be to bundle up, but the first priority is to make sure you stay dry. Light-weight layers help provide moisture wicking and insulation, while allowing you to remove layers as you warm up and replace them as you cool down. *Layers apply to tops & bottoms.
First Layer: Light-weight synthetic material that will pull sweat away.
Second Layer: Light-weight wool or synthetic fleece is great for insulation.
Third Layer: Water-proof, breathable jacket/pants will protect you from the wind, rain, & snow. Look for styles with vents and reflective fabric.
And don’t forget to protect your head, hands, and feet before you head outside.
