Please join us for a reception to honor the City of Wichita this Thursday, September 24 from 4:00 – 5:00pm at the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, 350 West Douglas.
The City of Wichita has been nominated and selected as the recipient of the 2015Kansas Public Health Association Public Health Policy Maker of the Year Award. The City of Wichita was nominated by Bike Walk Wichita for this prestigious award because of their exemplary efforts in implementing the Wichita Bicycle Master Plan, Wichita Pedestrian Master Plan and Routine Accommodations Policy.
The reception is hosted by Bike Walk Wichita, Health & Wellness Coalition of Wichita, and the Health Alliance. Mayor Longwell will make comments at approximately 4:15pm. and light refreshments will be served. We hope you can join us there to honor our local decision makers for their efforts in making our community more walkable and bikeable!
Complimentary Bike Valet Parking will be available.
Following the reception, a City of Wichita ribbon cutting event will be held at the Old Town Plaza (2nd & Mead) at 6:00pm. Individuals are encouraged to bicycle from the City Council Reception (details below) to the ribbon cutting ceremony.
