In 2014 Bike Walk Wichita alerted members about these pivotal meetings where citizen input was needed: Valley Center City Council discussing a new bike path; Wichita Master Pedestrian Plan Open House; District Advisory Board meetings about bike projects listed in the Master Plan; Wichita Multi-Modal Policy. The Armour Bike Boulevard had resident opposition (3-4 residents wanted the lane moved away from their street) at the DAB meeting. BWW sent out an Advocacy Alert and supporters attended who spoke in support of approving the original design plans as specified in the Master Bicycle Plan, which ultimately carried the day.
