People walking or bicycling, not pedestrians and cyclists.

Lets change the language we use when talking about walking and bicycling. For too long we’ve used wonky language that separates us from people who might actually support us if they knew what we were really saying! When we state “we support multi-modal transportation alternatives to enhance health outcomes for our community” we may know what we mean but others might not get that what we mean is “we support people’s choices in how they get around, including walking and bicycling, because its fun and healthy!” Here’s a cheatsheet for use to use when we’re engaged in civic communications, I mean “talking to people”
