Prairie Traveler’s Sunflower Foundation Grant application was submitted today. They met their $55,000 matching goal with two individuals who stepped up to the plate to cover the shortfall. In other words, to reduce their share we are still gladly taking either pledges or donations! AmeriCorps NCCC volunteers (8 to 12) will be arriving April 23rd, working both on the Prairie Sunset (westside trail) and the Redbud Trail (eastside).
Help is still needed in the form of donations and to help coordinate the Americore volunteers. Contact Prairie Travelers for more information.
Also there is a workday this Saturday, breakfast at Marci’s in Goddard at 7:30 am and we will split up on the trail and trim branches & pick up trash before the greenery hides it, as well as additional trail duties. Bring your work gloves, trimmers, pointed end shovels for weed and root removal, water for hydration & who knows maybe sunscreen!!
